Routing of incoming shipments

The routing of incoming mail depends on the capture process and the CodX PostOffice modules used. The routing described here only applies to manual or OCR-based capture, but not to items that are captured via the LS-LetterShop module or by sorting machines. or by sorting machines.

Capture shipments

The consignment is entered into the system using the MS-IHS (manual entry) or OS-IHS (OCR-supported entry) module. In both cases, an attempt is made to determine a valid recipient on the basis of the input or recognised recipient address. This can be a person entered in the person database or a customer or cost center. In the case of manual entry, the customer selects the relevant person or customer. In the case of OCR-supported entry, the selection takes place automatically, if this could be clearly recognized. Otherwise, the definitive selection is also made by the user.

We then move on to the examination of alternates.

Deputy

If a person was selected during the entry, CodX PostOffice checks whether another person is stored as a substitute for this person, the set service and for the corresponding period. and for the corresponding period another person is stored as a substitute. If this is not the case, the check continues with the check for BK attachments (see below).

With the deputy rule in the personal database, you can specify whether the physical mail is to be routed to the original recipient or to the deputy. or to the deputy.

  • Routing to original recipient: The information on the shipment label is specified for delivery to the original recipient. The item is physically processed as if there were no surrogate. However, all additional functions (e.g. You have mail, etc.) are, however, also carried out for the deputy.
  • Routing to the deputy: The information on the shipment label is specified for delivery to the deputy. The shipment is physically processed as if it were originally addressed to the deputy. All additional functions (e.g. You have mail, etc.) are also performed for the original recipient.

The check of the substitutes is performed recursively. This means that CodX PostOffice checks if there is a substitute for the found substitute. is again stored for the proxy found. This is repeated until no more substitutes are found or until a circular or until a circular reference occurs. This is a circular reference, if a person in the chain of substitutes already occurs. In this case, the search stops at the last proxy.

Note: If there are multiple proxy definitions, the following logic is used to determine the current Substitute is applied.
1: Substitute for current day
2: Deputy for corresponding service
3: Substitute for <standard> service
4: Deputy with shortest validity area Logic for determining the current data record based on the validity area.
5: Stv. whose "Valid from" is closer to the current day. Logic for determining the current data record based on thevalidity area.
6: If there is still more than one stv. that meets these criteria, one is taken one is taken at random.

Note: The check of substitutes is only executed if this function is licensed and activated in CodX PostOffice.

Once this step has been carried out, the next step is the inspection for BK systems.

BK-Anlagen

In the next step, the system checks whether a BK system (safe deposit box system, letterbox system, packet station) is stored for the recipient selected above (original recipient or deputy). (safe deposit box system, letterbox system, packet station) is stored for the recipient selected above (original recipient or deputy recipient). Here the entered service and the date range also play a role.

The BK attachment can be stored as follows:

  • No BK facility: In this case, delivery is not made to the BK facility. Routing therefore takes place to the logistics unit set for the person or customer. logistics unit assigned to the person or customer.
  • Static tray assignment: With static tray assignment, a fixed tray is assigned for the person or customer. The delivery is thus made to this set tray.
  • Dynamic tray allocation: With dynamic tray allocation, no specific tray is stored. When the shipment is entered a check is made to see if a tray has already been reserved for the relevant recipient. If this is the case, the shipment will be routed to this will be routed to this reserved tray. If this is not the case, an empty tray will be reserved for this recipient and the shipment will be routed accordingly. routed accordingly. If there is no free compartment available, the system checks whether another BK system is stored for the same service and the same date range. date range is stored. If this is the case, an attempt is made to reserve an empty compartment at this BC system. If no empty compartment can be found, the shipment is routed as if no BK facility had been defined. The routing is thus carried out to the logistics unit set for the person or the customer.

Notice:

If the recipient has defined mailboxes in different mailbox systems for the current day mailboxes for the current day (without priority and with identical time range), the user must make a selection when entering a make a selection when capturing an item. However, if the time ranges are different, CodX PostOffice will select the most appropriate one.
If the recipient has mailboxes defined in different mailboxes for the current day mailboxes for the current day (with priority), only one mailbox mailbox facility is available for selection. The same logic applies: If the user cannot make a selection (for example can make (e.g. IHS Webinterface) for the determination of the current box the following criteria apply the following criteria apply in each case:

If the shipment is to be routed to an FC facility, the logistics unit of the corresponding FC facility is used for the sorting information. BK facility is used for the sorting information. The consignment label is printed accordingly and the consignment is assigned to the set district.

Note: The check of BK attachments is only executed if this function is licensed and activated in CodX PostOffice.
