CxLetterScan printer settings (print module)
Here you will find all available settings for the print module of CxLetterScan (#CxLetterScanPrint).
Basic settings
A list of all available attributes for editing is displayed. The first column contains the name of the
attribute, and the second column contains the value of the attribute, which can be edited. To edit a value, click with the
mouse on the corresponding column and change the value.
General settings
| Description |
Default |
Description |
| 100: Timeout Print: Maximum permissible processing time for preparing the print image in
ms |
200 |
Maximum time in milliseconds that may be used to print a transmission. If the time exceeds this limit,
an error is triggered and the machine is stopped. |
| 200: Reason - Print offset in mm |
95 |
Defines the standard print offset applied to the printer module. This is the distance between the sensor on the print module and the first print head. Nothing should be printed in this area until the letter has actually reached the print head (#CxLetterScanPrintOffset). |
| 201: Automatic print offset in X direction (longitudinal/running direction) |
No |
Defines whether the selected print layout is shifted in the X direction (longitudinal/running direction) to the best free area (white spot) (#CxLetterScanPrintOffset)
See Automatic print offset. |
| 202: Automatic print offset in the Y direction (crosswise) |
No |
Defines whether the selected print layout is shifted in the Y direction (crosswise) to the best free area (white spot) (#CxLetterScanPrintOffset)
See Automatic print offset. |
| 203: Minimum distance from the end of the letter for print start [mm] |
2 |
Defines a minimum area at the end of the letter in which printing is no longer allowed to start with automatic print offset. If the automatic print offset causes printing to start in this area, printing will automatically start at the beginning of the letter. |
| 210: Distance between print head and guide rail [mm] |
10 |
Defines the mechanical distance from the paper guide rail to the print head. |
| 220:
Deviation factor of letter length in percent |
25 |
This factor defines the
percentage of the measured letter length by which the letter may
deviate in length on the printer. If the length
is exceeded or not reached, the machine is stopped with the
corresponding error.
Example with a factor of 10:
The measured letter on the camera module is 228 mm long,
which means that it must not be shorter than 205
mm or longer than 250 mm on the printing module. The length changes
if the letter is either placed at an angle after the print module
or if two letters are pushed on top of each other
. |
| 230: Timeout until processing is terminated after preparation of the print data in seconds |
5 |
This timeout defines the maximum time in seconds that is waited until a label has been prepared for the printer. If the print preparation takes too long, the machine stops so that the letter is in front of the print head and waits until the print preparation is complete. If this takes longer than the specified timeout, the machine stops with the error that the item data was not received. |
| 400:
Cartridge level: Warning limit in percent, default value
is 10% |
10 |
This parameter can be used
to set the point at which a warning is displayed in the
CxLetterscan dialog in the print module under Printer status
if the fill level falls below the level defined here
. |
Automatic print offset
The automatic print offset (#CxLetterScanPrintOffset) offsets the print image so that it is printed in the best possible free area.
To do this, the image of the letter is analyzed and all free areas (white spots) are searched for.
The position and size of the canvas defined in the print layout
is used to select the best free area.
The print image is shifted in the X and Y directions according to the free area.
Standard error layouts for use cases
This grid shows all use cases that have the
print function. For each use case, select a layout
that will be printed on the letter in case of an error.
Printer layouts
This list shows all available printer layouts. These are managed here (edit, add, delete).
Incorrect printer layouts (syntax errors, missing/empty elements/attributes, etc.) are displayed with a red background.
A printer layout defines which data is printed on a shipment and in what format. It
Various elements such as static text, variables, barcodes, and images are supported. Settings are required to position these elements, specify their font,
etc. This definition of the print layout is done in XML files (see
PrintLayout Syntax).
