Printer layout details

A printer layout is edited in this dialog.

The name, comment and referenced files (fonts/fonts and images/image files) can be maintained.

A printer layout defines which data is printed on a shipment and in which formatting. Various elements such as static text, variables, barcodes and images are supported. Settings are required to position these elements, define their font, etc. The print layout is defined in XML files (see PrintLayout Syntax and AdminDoc #CxLetterScanPrint).

All files referenced in a printer layout (Fonst/Images) must be included in the list!

Operation

• Name
  Enter the name of the print layout in this field. This name is used wherever a print layout is selected.

• Comment
  Enter a comment on the print layout in this field.

• Import
  Imports a printer layout definition from an XML file. The file selection dialog appears in which the XML file can be selected. The XML attribute<PrintLayout>.Name from the file is used as the name of the print layout. If a print layout with this name already exists, it is updated (overwritten).

• Export
  The printer layout currently selected in the list is exported to an XML file. A file selection dialog appears in which the directory and file name can be selected. Existing files can also be overwritten.

• Validate
  The printer layout is validated. The syntax, elements and attributes are checked in accordance with thePrintLayout syntax and any corresponding error messages are displayed. It is also checked whether all referenced files are present.

• Edit
  The selected file is opened for editing in the Referenced file for print layout dialog.

• Add
  A new file is added by opening the Referenced file for print layout dialog.

• Delete
  The file currently selected in the list is deleted. Confirmation is requested before deletion.

• Save
  Saves the current settings, the dialog remains open.

• Close
  Closes the dialog WITHOUT saving!
