Event Capture, Guided Data Entry

For the introduction and general mode of operation, see Event Capture.

The Guided Data Capture tab is used for capturing events via keyboard or with barcode scanners with keyboard emulation (Wedge). The Cx photo scanners are also supported.

Operating elements

Input UPOC via:

Define here, whether after the scan of a bar code still a manual confirmation with with <Enter> or <OK> is necessary or whether a successful scan is processed directly/immediately.

  • Barcode scanner without Enter
    No manual confirmation, the read barcode is processed directly.

  • Keyboard or barcode scanner with Enter
    After the input via keyboard or the barcode scan you have to confirm manually with <Enter> or <OK>.

Enter shipments with alternative code:

Define here whether consignments can also be entered/referenced via alternative code.

If this checkbox is not available, then this is accordingly co-figured in the settings for event entry. is configured accordingly.

Label printing:

If you have installed the appropriate reports, you can select this option.
If the option is selected, the selected label is printed the selected label will be printed after saving the event.
These settings will not be lost when restarting CodX PostOffice, the last used setting will be restored.
This option is not available for wireless scanners.

Event Date/Time:

Here you can define a specific event date/time. define.
If the checkbox is not selected, the current date/time is always used. date/time is always used.
If you want to define a specific event date/time, first select the checkbox and then define the date and time.
No date in the future can be selected. The date range into the past depends on the setting of the lifetime of shipment data, see Settings / General / Tab Archiving/Cleanup.
It is not possible to enter an event date/time which is that is older than the acquisition time of the shipment. It appears in this case a corresponding warning.
The event date/time can only be defined with the appropriate rights to define the event date/time.
This option is notavailable for radio available for radio scanners.

Employees:

By logging on to CodX PostOffice , the employee is automatically recognized and selected. However, you can also select another other employee.

  • Select employees (employee icon)
    Another employee can be searched/selected.

  • Employee reset (cross icon)
    The currently logged on employee is used again.

Event Type:

Select the event type in this combo box. This will be used for all following entered events until another event type is selected.
The event type determines the tap of the status machine and thus the sequence of the scan in the Input field.

Next entry:

Information is displayed here to help with the scanning process. It shows what is to be captured/scanned next. should be.
Examples:
- If the event type Acceptance of KoP is selected, then a Manadant-UPOC must be captured next.
- if the event type Acceptance at Depot is selected, then a Depot-UPOC should be entered next.

Input:

Enter the barcode/UPOC in this field.

OK

Confirms the data entered in the Input field. This is used when the Keyboard or Barcode scanner with Enter is selected.

Last Events Recorded:

Displays a list of the most recently captured events. If invalid data is captured, the line appears in red and an error message is displayed in the Error column. column displays a corresponding error message.
