All relevant settings required for digitization can be set in this dialogue.
Changed settings must be explicitly saved using the "Save" button, otherwise they will be lost.
To set the logistics unit for temporary storage, archiving, destruction and digitization, use the "..." button next to the display field to call up the logistics selector and select the corresponding logistics unit. The address and name of the selected logistics unit are shown in the display field.

Description |
120: Save searchable PDF |
The PDF is saved in a format that can be searched with a text search. This requires more space and time when creating the PDF. |
125: Convert images in PDF to JPEG |
If activated, all images in the PDF are converted to JPEG format. This reduces the size of the PDF file. Recommended default value: activated |
126: Image quality (if JPEG) |
Determines the JPEG quality level. All integers between 1 and 100 are permitted. Recommended default value: 20 |
127: Change size of images in PDF |
If activated and setting 125 is also activated, all images are reduced or enlarged according to setting 128. If images are reduced in size, this reduces the size of the PDF file. Recommended default value: activated |
128: Resizing in percent, if the size of the images is to be changed |
Determines the resizing percentage in which the images are reduced or enlarged. Recommended default value (for original scan 300 dpi): 70 |
130: Processing of separator sheets |
The following settings are available for selection:
- The images on the 1st page are not saved in the PDF. - All images are saved. - The images on the 1st page are not saved in the PDF. A separate PDF with the images of the 1st page is saved.
If the scanner is set to dublex during digitization, the first 2 images are removed (i.e. the entire page) in the case of options 1 and 3 so that the printout is correct.
!!!Attention: The processing of separator sheets is ignored regardless of the setting in the pre-digitization and is not carried out. |
140: Format for saving scanned PDF documents via the virtual scanner |
The following settings are available for selection:
- Saving the PDF after processing CodX PostOffice (A PDF is created from all scanned pages. The UPOC and the time of capture are displayed in the header)
- Saving the original PDF (The original PDF is saved; no header)
- Saving both PDFs |
141: Resolution (DPI) for scanned PDF documents via the virtual scanner |
Defines the resolution (DPI) with which the PDF documents are converted into images. Default value: 300 |
200: Label printing active during archiving |
Defines whether a shipment label is printed when archiving shipments. |
210: Label printing active on destruction |
Defines whether a shipment label is printed when shipments are destroyed. |
220: Label printing active on delivery |
Defines whether a shipment label is printed when shipments are delivered or forwarded. |
230: Label printing active for manual and automatic exception processing |
Defines whether a label is printed if exception processing has been activated either manually or automatically. |
300: Maximum temporary storage of the shipment in days |
Defines the maximum length of time for which consignments digitized with "Individual selection" remain in temporary storage. |
400: Follow-up process if the duration of temporary storage is exceeded |
Defines how to proceed with consignments whose expiration date in the temporary storage (above option Maximum temporary storage of the consignment in days) has been exceeded.
Possible options:
- Normal delivery
- Destruction
- Archiving
|
410: Confirmation email after execution of the digitization follow-up process |
If this option is activated, a confirmation email is sent by 'you have mail' for each consignment that has gone through the follow-up process after digitization and is completed. The same job is used for this as for the 'you have mail' message for the digitization follow-up process, but a separate message type is used. |
420: Deactivate direct digitization for subsequent process if consignment is not digitized and route it for digitization |
If this activation box is activated, all consignments that have not yet been digitized will be rerouted for digitization in the subsequent process and the subsequent process will not be executed. In this case, the consignment must be digitized first. |
500: Maximum document size in MB, exception processing is activated if this is exceeded. Value 0 = deactivated |
Automatic exception processing is activated due to 2 events:
1. if the recipient's email address is invalid or empty
2. if the generated digitization document is larger than the MB defined here
If this parameter is 0, exception processing is only activated if the recipient's email address is invalid. |
510: Exception processing: Physical delivery if no valid e-mail address is available |
If this setting is active, the system checks whether the consignment to be digitized has a valid recipient email address. If not, exception processing is automatically activated. |
600: Ignore blank pages during processing/saving |
If this option is activated, scanned pages that contain a blank page are ignored. This means that they are not processed/scanned and not saved for transmission.
The default setting is deactivated, i.e. process/save blank pages. |
610: Save original images from scanner to database |
This option allows you to save all images supplied by the scanner as a special consignment image type in the consignment. This function is used to check whether all images have been processed correctly. Please note that each page is saved as an image in the consignment, in the case of a duplex scan this is 2 images each, the front and the back. Please note that blank pages are also saved, regardless of whether option 600 is activated or not. |
620: Storage of images for multiple scans |
This setting determines how existing images on a broadcast should be handled when it is digitized. The following options are available:
- Add to existing images
- Delete existing images
In batch processing, this setting is the default, in individual processing it can be selected or if setting 621 is set to No, it is also the default. |
621: Ask for storage of images for multiple scanning in single processing' Y/N (Default: Yes) |
In the individual processing of the digitization, depending on the setting, a query for image storage according to setting 620 is requested if there are existing images on the consignment to be digitized. |
