Session lock

The session lock function is used to lock records for users if another user is already editing them.

Session

A session describes a user who is logged in. This session is unique for this user and remains as long as the user is logged in.
If a PC crashes, or the program no longer responds, the session still exists, should the user log in again in a short time (before expiration), this session is taken over again. Otherwise, the session is automatically deleted after the expiration of the validity period.
If the session has to be deleted earlier, the admin can use the operation in the settings dialog and close the selected session and the associated locks with the button "End session". However, this should only be done in an emergency.

Lock

A lock exists as long as a user is editing a record. As soon as a user has finished editing a data set, other users can continue editing the same data set, otherwise it is locked for the others.
If a lock remains set longer than desired or does not unlock itself, the selected lock can be deleted in the settings dialog with the button "Delete lock".
