Search for customers, cost centers and templates

Wherever in CodX PostOffice customers, cost centers and/or templates can be used, they are selected using the dialog shown here. dialog shown here. Depending on the module, this dialog is displayed in different ways.

Display

You have the option to display the results of a search in two different ways. You select this option in the group"Display / Presentation" via the option button Tree view or List view. option button.

In the tree view, customers and their associated cost centers or templates are displayed hierarchically. If the mouse pointer is positioned on an entry, an information text with additional attributes of the corresponding entry is displayed.

The list view shows all found customers and the corresponding cost centers in a list.
Important: The list view shows all cost centers of the found customers. Thus, cost centers that do not directly match the search criterion are also displayed. This function is important when searching for a cost center of a specific customer (e.g. via customer UPOC).

Operation

  • Search
    Performs a search with the entered search terms and the set filters. The result is displayed either in the tree or list view.

  • All displays
    All customers, cost centers and/or templates are displayed. All filters except for the search term are taken into account.

  • Update
    Since the customers and cost centers are cached internally, they are not available in real time and will be updated after a cycle of 10 minutes. With this button the most current customers and cost centers are loaded into the cache.

  • New search
    All entries found so far are deleted from the list.

  • Reset
    All filter and display settings are reset to default values.

  • Take over
    The selected customer(s), cost center(s) and/or template(s) are selected and transferred to the program, which called the customer/cost center selection dialog.

  • Cancel
    Closes this dialog without returning to the program that called the selection dialog.

Search

The Search button searches for customers, cost centers and/or templates, depending on the settings and filter. searched for.

If you start the search before all customers/cost centers have been cached, you will not receive a search result. You will be informed that the cache is still being loaded.

Filter settings

The possible filters are described below.

Search mode

There are two different search modes:

  • Standard
    The system searches for the entered search criteria with the set filter arguments.

  • By name (phonetic)
    The system searches for customers/cost centers for which the entered search attributes match phonetically.

Options

The [Options] button can be used to show all attributes that are being searched for. This expands the dialog and everything is moved downwards. An activation button is displayed for each possible attribute that can be searched for. Only only the activated attributes in this overview are searched for, all non-activated attributes are ignored during the search.

With the two buttons [+] and [-] you have the possibility to activate or deactivate all options.

Filter

  • Incl. inactive
    The system also searches for customers and/or cost centers that are inactive.

  • Incl. templates
    Templates are taken into account in the search, regardless of whether only active or also inactive customers and cost centres are searched

  • Business partner only
    The system only searches for customers and/or cost centers that have been defined as business partners using the FA function. The filter Incl. Inactive is taken into account and either only active or all active incl. inactive business partners are searched for. Inactive business partners are searched.
    If this filter is activated, the filter Incl. templates is automatically deactivated, because business partners cannot be templates. can be.

  • Service provider
    With this combo box you can set a filter on the service provider of a customer or a cost center. can be set. This concerns mainly cooperated customers/cost centers. If <All> is selected, this filter has no effect.

  • FA Invoice Client
    With this combo box you can set a filter on the invoice client, which is set in the Customer Management under invoice definitions. If <All> is selected, this filter has no effect. effect.

  • Customer group
    With this combo box you can set a filter on the customer group, which is set in the customer management under master data. If <All> is selected, this filter has no effect.

Search Keyword

The search term(s) for which customers, cost centers and/or templates are being searched are entered here.
The wildcard * (asterisk) can be used in the search term. This includes any character in its place. The following formats are possible for the search: AB*, *AB*, *AB.
It should be noted that several search terms are linked AND. This means that all search terms must appear in the result.

The entered search terms are applied to all attributes that are activated in the options.
